Action Transportation Awarded NYSDOH Preferred Provider Opportunity
Action Transportation is pleased to be awarded a Preferred Provider Opportunity for Zone 2 by New York State Department of Health Bureau of Medicaid Transportation.
Action Transportation will be the sole transporter for eligible NYS Medicaid enrollees in the awarded zone to/from St. Mary’s OTP in Amsterdam, New York. The zone covers Fulton County.

Safely Providing NEMT Services to the Capital Region
Action Transportation, Inc. is closely following the guidance and recommendations of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We remain committed to providing safe and reliable non-emergency transportation services to medical appointments during the pandemic and beyond. We have recommended safety and sanitation procedures in place and follow guidance from the CDC on vehicle sanitation. We are actively monitoring the evolving situation and will update our procedures as guidelines are updated.
For recommendations on steps to care for yourself and help protect others in your home and community, it’s best to consult the resources of the CDC.
The health and safety of our customers and our team remain foremost in our efforts.

Hometown Health Centers Annual Health fest
Action participated as a vendor on August 8, at the Hometown Health Centers annual Healthfest at the agency’s site at 1044 State Street, Schenectady, New York. Each year, Hometown Health Centers provides health and wellness services to 20,000 patients; the annual Health fest offers an opportunity to bring healthcare and education in one place to children and adults who live in Schenectady’s inner-city. Action Transportation has had a contract with Hometown Health Centers to provide transportation to and from the physical facility since August, 2018.

Announcement of Partnership
Action became an official network provider, offering non-emergency medical transportation for clients of CAREdesign New York. CAREdesign New York is a New York State approved specialized Care Coordination Organization developed by more than 70 agencies in 30 counties of NYS, who came together to support more than 25,000 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. On May 22, Action was officially introduced as a network provider to more than 200 case managers at CARE design New York through a monthly web-based platform called “Provider Spotlight.”

Action announced a partnership with Home Instead Senior Care to provide non-emergency medical wheelchair/stretcher van and medicar transportation services to their clients on an as needed basis. Home Instead Senior Care provides non-medical, in-home care to seniors and their families who want to “age in place.” Action Transportation will play an integral part in helping seniors live safely and independently wherever they call home, by fulfilling their need for affordable, reliable and safe non-emergency medical transportation to and from their medical appointments when requested.
